How long is it safe for children to use electronic devices?

As technology has become ingrained in our daily lives, children are exposed to more and more screen time than before. Although this tool benefits learning, it can also cause poor social skills and attachments with parents and others.

The Canadian Pediatric Society recommends the following:

- Children under two years: No screen time

- Children two to five years: less than one hour a day

- Children older than five: less than two hours a day Physical activity is encouraged, and taking a break during screen time is vital to reduce eye strain. Furthermore, it’s always recommended to take children for outdoor activities to create a balance with the digital world.
