Medicine Expiration Date

Why do vaccines expire?

A medical product is typically labelled by the manufacturer with an expiration date. This tells the time period during which the product is expected to remain stable or retain its identity, strength, quality, and purity when it is properly stored according to its labelled storage conditions. Parents and caregivers must check the expiry date before administering any medicine to the patient. The expiration date is important to ensure the patient's safety.
